How would I know that when there are almost no players being rendered, the world is empty.

I can tell you that this limitation has discouraged play from members of my guild, to the point where we are playing other games instead.
There must be a solution coming?
Anet are working on different ways of using culling. Their latest attempt was… well astep backwards lets put it that way. But atleast they are working on it.
The problem is i dont think they want to put the option of culling in our hands becouse it may verywell overwhelm there systems. Think of thousands of people with 0 culling. Thats thousands of computers asking their servers for data on EVERY single person within sight. thats ALOT of data and would likely play havoc with their system.
Instead they are working on different ways of making culling to take place and hopefully trying different distances aswell.
I’ve personaly had culling take place in WvW even when my fps is sitting at 60 ..totaly not needed at all from my point of view..but its there i beleve becouse there are X number of people within my sight ..as soon as it goes over that number they turn culling on so that my system doesnt ask for to much data from their servers.

if you read through their comments they said they were working on it. They even explained a solution to the problem but weren’t good enough for the time they needed to invest in programming it. So they are working on a better solution. When? until its ready. Kinda like asking when will scientist find the cure for X disease. Can’t put a exact time on that kind of thing.

I hope they fix this soon, I’ve given up with the game for now because I’m suffering from this a lot, ended up giving in on the one-time event because the events were bugged or couldn’t be seen due to the number of people waiting for them. I appreciate that they’re trying, but in a game where they’ve proudly tried to make sure that being with other people they’re not doing very well. I don’t understand why they haven’t tried implementing a ‘generic model’ fix where instead of things not being visible they just stick a ‘there is something here and it has this name’ marker. Be it an NPC, Player, Hostile Mob banner or w/e I know they’re trying to be immersive, but there’s nothing less immersive than invisible zombies (for instance) gnawing your face off or dying almost instantly as a previously invisible zerg starts appearing about you at the game engine finally struggles to load about 1% of them.
I know Anet don’t care if I play their game or not, but it’d be nice if they pretended to give a damn about such major issues. Or at least made sure we know they give a damn. One-time events should definitely be put on hold until this is resolved.
