hi, I used to play on windows 7 64bit, no problems at all, last night I upgraded to windows 8, now my fps are much better then before, with the same settings, but my problem is, now I have lagspikes more or less all the time 2-5 sec, regadless of what map Im on, or instances areas, all drivers are the latest, my isp works just fine (10/10mbit) anyone else have this problem in windows 8? or have any idea whats causing it?

I also have problems since I installed windows8, there’s some incompatibility with Intel’s driver and GW2, sometimes it starts in pitch black screen and stays there forever with a message telling me the graphic driver went out and restored sucessfully, after I alt+f4 the game, sometimes it opens normally, it’s kind of a gamble.

hmm, I dont have any problems with black screen, or messages, just the lag, made a support ticket about it, but just got the answer that win 8 is not “officially supported”
and was recommended to install windows 7 and use dual boot.. nice fix, an extra OS just for one game, my other games work just fine, but I had some problems when I installed it, and the reapair tool froze, so testing a reinstall now, and then use compatibility mode for windows 7, hoping that will solve it, 60% left to download:P

grab the latest Ethernet/Wifi drivers from station drivers

Some of the W8 drivers available cause NDIS to consume alot of cpu and cause high cpu load and latency issues.

I just solved it, I have all the latest drivers, but what I did was:
rightclick the gw2 shortcut.
click properties.
click compatibility tab.
enable compatibility/windows 7.

this solved all my problems with gw2 in win 8, really easy, but atlest I didnt know that option was there lol, hope it helps someone else:)
