when the game starts to lag a bit after a few hours of play (with cracking sound) my laptop switches itself off with no error message.

please help?

Sounds like you may be overheating. They tend to shut off to prevent damage to components before it occurs. (based on the symptoms mentioned… Lag then off)

It could be a battery issue due to how intensive gw2 is on resources.

Question, what do you mean by “cracking sound” exactly?

Definitely sounds like overheating… that cracking noise may be due to sudden electric interruption.

You need to make sure the laptop is clean on the inside.

Then make sure when you use it to put it on a hard surface so the air can flow.

A cooling pad might also help

Other then that there is not much you can do

I use a cooling pad to help with mine, 2 fans are better than one ;p
