mouse cursor disappears
I have the exact same problem with gtx 980 and latest nvidia drivers. It is very frustrating.
By any chance are you using Precision X or any OC software? My game seems more stable when I don’t have Precision X running.

Hi dexgen
yes i’m using evga precision x all the time maybe its because of that program?
Pain, can you try playing GW2 with the Precision X software closed? In my experience once I shut that down, it’s smooth sailing.
(I don’t mean turning off overclocking. Just close Precision X alone.)
Hi again i tryed and the problem persists… dont know more what to do i’m contacting support maybe they can help me if i fix the problem i post here about what i did to fix it
I have the exact same problem. Pointer disappears. Game closes when I hit m. I will try turninhg of Precision X. Mine is a gtx 780 classified. I am assuming maybe it is a driver issue?
Turn off mouse pointer trails in the control panel.
none of those options helped me still doing it even after a reinstall and a repair of data
I had the same problem after I updated my Nvidia video driver and installed Precision X 16. I also noticed that Logitech setpoint was not showing active anymore.
I did a windows restore and it unloaded Precision X16.
Now the cursor does not disappear and Logitech setpoint is back.
The NVidia driver update also loaded a mouse driver. but that doesn’t seem to be causing a problem so far.
I am going to try and reload an older version of precision X.
reloaded precision x 4.2.1 and having no problems
I’m actually having the same problem here. I have a GTX 750Ti, which doesn’t begin to compare with a 980, but it’s still a decent card. Anyways… I’m also using Precision X for a slight overclock, so my assumption is that GW2 doesn’t play well with Precision X. Hopefully EVGA or GW2 fixes this, cause all of my other games run perfect.
P.S. Ignore my name
im having the same problem. running a gtx 650 took out precision x 16 an reinstalled percision x 4.2.1 my ved driver are up to date. im reinstalling gw2 now. hopefully this will take care of this problem. if it dose i’ll repost.
Same here – un-installed PrecisionX 16 and installed 4.2.1 and no more cursor disappearing and game crashing. It started when I updated to Nvidia driver 347.52.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, GPUs are 2 780Ti’s.
I had the same issue, there is a trick you can do in Windows to fix the mouse issues rendering horribly on 4k displays by simply having magnifier open, even at 100% (or mouse trails)
But apparently if you run any of those with the game, the mouse completely dissapears. You’ll need to turn magnifier off and mouse trails if you’re using that.
Happens to me, Windows 7 and Windows 10, 2 GTX980s SLI.
Happens when i run EVGA Precision. On windows 7 it makes the game crash as well.
Have tried Yolomouse dose not help. Have to play with EVGA Precision off. Happens in other games as well. There is some bug when running 4k and upscaled icons and fonts as well that makes it happen on Win7, That dose not seem to happen on Win 10..
Oz
The mouse cursor is disappearing on me too, since I upgraded to a GTX 970 + EVGA Precision X 16. Once the cursor disappears, if I try to switch maps through a portal or through [m], the game will crash quietly.
It does seem that turning Precision X off helps. For what it’s worth, I think the fan profile set with Precision X continues to work even when it is closed.
Turned off mouse cursor trails.
Got control of the game.
