Q:
not recognizing mouse buttons anymore
is anyone going to reply?
this is really frustrating
i am not so good with the keyboard so i rely on my mouse
this bug makes the game unplayable for me
i see nobody from tech support knows or cares about this
even though other people have similar problems too
this might be a good time to ask for a refund
after being ignored by the official tech support and the forums i was finally able to fix this by myself with lots of tweaking of the program permissions and user rights
hopefully the rest of people who have the same problem will see this
Hi, having the same issues with my Steelseries MMO gaming mouse.
Every time i log in the settings are lost again.
Only fix so far is re-install the mouse software every time…
obviously that’s not an elegant solution.
Could you explain what exactly you changed in what settings?
Since no tech support is answering this apparantly…
i dont know if the same fix will work but i went to the program files click on the properties of gw2.exe and from there made it so the program has full access by all users and not just the admin
also if it has lock icon next to the file there shouldn’t be any after you are done
about the steelseries i heard their button configuration can be problematic because it was designed to be better compatible with wow
Yesterday I re-installed the mouse program again, amongst a few other things.
It worked, as it has before. But ususally this only lasts till I reboot again, or just turn the pc on again the next day.
I also did what you tried: putting GW2 accessible for all (normally I run these games as administrator since that solves other issues often…).
Today I logged in, and my mouse buttons were still active!
I think it was your solution there that did the trick.
I’ll see if it lasts, but at least it’s the first day I could start with all buttons recognised.
Thanks for that.
If it’s this simple, than why no tech support can mention this, even in a sticky with several issues or something?
On the steelseries: I don’t use the standard commands list they added for WoW, not even in WoW… I simply make macro’s for the mouse each clicking a specific button (or set that up in WoW keybinds since the game recognises the mouse).
From there on, with each button set to a specific key only, I make macro’s in WoW or put abilities on my bars, that are activated by those specific keys.
I never used the build in features for WoW of the mouse. Most of that software is simply overkill and cluttering up things.
oh god with the new update it happened again
and the files locked up again and it wont let me unlock em now….i ll try again later
this is really starting to make angry….
let me know if you managed to fix it now
apparently the gw2.dat is programmed to lock again after you launch the prorgamm
update:i fixed this another time by changing the owner of the program but whats really bugging me is the support not responding
(edited by IPARKER.8549)
and the support is completely ignoring us again
we are the invisible customers…
