i have my gaming laptop that i have always played GW2 on. i have recently bought parts to build a new gaming PC. i would like to play HoT on my new PC but i am not always home, sometimes at friends houses and would like to also be able to play on my laptop while at their houses and theyre playing on their own rigs. i will only be using one or the other, never both at the same time, so will i be able to play with only owning 1 license or will i have to buy two copies of the game?

I’m pretty sure your license is linked to your account, so as long as you log into your account, you should be good to go, yes.

You’re fine, have it on two comps myself. Use one while home and the other when deployed, no issues.

What you install is just the client and it doesn’t have any tie to your account.
So, as they said above, you are fine.

The license is your online account, not the actual installed copy, technically speaking.

There are no issues with having the client installed on multiple computers, as you can only log in on one at a time (it kicks out the first when the second connects, although interesting note, I leave one at the char select screen a lot cause I’m lazy, and logging in on the other one doesn’t kick out of char select or make me re-logon unless there’s been an update)

I was thinking the same thing.

Technically, you could go and log onto your account from your friend’s rigs when you go visit them through the client. That being said, there’s also a matter of the authenticator which may ask you to enter a code when logging from a computer that isn’t set up as the “home” computer.
