does anyone have this new CPU haswell 4770K preferably overclocked to the 4.5-4.8mhz range?
how is the performance? can you hit at least 40 fps minimums in WvW / very large scale world boss battles on maxed settings, trying to see if it’s worth to upgrade from what I have but I won’t bother if it’s only like 5 fps more then what I’m already getting.

my current system is i7 980x @ 4.5ghz for CPU, titan sli for gpu, 12 gigs of 1600mhz ddr3 ram & ssd for storage

Hi!

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

Basically anything over 2000 points is able to hold the FPS over 40fps easily in big fights!

I’m running i7 3770 3,4GHz OC’d to 4,05GHz and I have 100fps+, dropping to 50-60 fps in ZvZ.

My friend was getting mid/high 20s in zerg fights with a 3570k running at 4.2 GHz. A higher clocked 4670k should do fine.

In massive fights with Culling set so u can still see everyone, the best FPS u are gunna get is 20-30 FPS no matter ur CPU. Anyone stating otherwise is yet to ever provide a vid to prove it, the few that have, have ended up showing very small zergs.

4.5 to 4.8ghz on a Haswell 4770k is hard to reach due to the immense heat they produce. A h100i fails to keep thiggs cool at a 4.6ghz OC for example, so u will likely only get 4.5ghz max. Which is fine tbh.
A stock 4770k at 3.9ghz can keep FPS in the 20-30 FPS range in proper BIG Zergs, so long as u have texture culling on Low. (Character limit can stay on max (Highest)).

Oh i can cap out at 60fps in WvW aswell ..when nothing is going on or im in a average sized or small battle/zerg.
But come Eternal battleground when u have a 3 way zerg fest, no CPU currently out will hold up under that amount of badly threaded and coded punishment. You will be lucky to stay within the 20-30 FPS zone.

And if anyone, anyone… can say otherwise I will be more than glad to make a thread where i go on record and say im wrong, IF a legit vid is provided as proof. Showing settings, rig specs and the fps during said zergs.
