ok so i know i made a bad judgement call with this issue. some guy was posting in map chat about not being able to sell a dusk on the trading post so i thought i may be able to get it for a deal by trading him directly through mail. long story short, 300g and 100 ectos later, i have no dusk and no gold. i really hope i can get some help here cause i dont believe i violated anything, just made a terrible mistake. i submitted a ticket (#474705) already. also, idk if there is a place, but i would like to post this jerk’s name so everyone else will know to stay away.

You can’t post his name, name and shame posts are forbidden. One reason is, how do you tell the true posts from the people who are deliberately lying to cause problems for another person. A second reason is, the old “innocent till proven guilty” thing.

You made a ticket and support will deal with it from there. That’s all you can do.

My experience is that they don’t get involved in scamming and even if they did, you wouldn’t get anything back, they’d just discipline the offender.

If you used an insecure trading method then you only have yourself to blame. Trust the TP and be wary of everyone, even your friends.

From what they have said, while they do discipline the scammer you will not get any of your stuff back. By the time they get involved, the scammer has normally salvaged, sold or transferred the items to another account.

Sorry you got scammed. Chalk it up to learning not to trust strangers on the internet. With any luck they will terminate his account and you get the last laugh that way.
