hi, since i bought the game when it first came out i’ve issues with the game crashing my entire pc. I seem to get a plain coloured screen (varying colours) and then it either locks up or attempts to restart. either way I have to restart and continue. When I started playing I had maxed out everything (because my pc should be able to run it no problem) but now I have to play with eveything at minimum which is a massive let down in it’s own right.

I have just put up with it until now but i just can’t take it anymore because for some reason it happens on the bonus mission of fractals i would say 5 out of 6 times i attempt it….. this means my progress in the dungeon is painfully slow and I RARELY get the bonus even though I have got 99% there.
I am not a casual gamer and have put hundreds of hours into this game but sadly i am loosing the will to carry on while getting these issues.

my specs are:
gtx 570
i7 3.4ghz
8g ram
asus pro mother board

I would stress test your system for stability and check temps for heat issues. (See Part 5.1)

hi, i don’t relly know what i’m looking for on these tests.
I ran the occt one on both gpu and cpu for an hour, everything looked pretty stable to me, with a max temp of 56 on the cpu and voltages within +/- 0.01v.
The prime95 one I didn’t understand, I couldn’t see if was still running or not and if so when it’s due to end and where I was meant to get the results from?
the furmark one really seem to stress the card. I’m uncertain as to what temp i should allow it to get up to, I reched high 70’s and thought i’d check 1st on here before i blew something up

hi,

Your issue is likely to be either:

- Overheating (GPU/CPU)
- Faulty memory/gpu
- Power stability issues.

From what you have said so far though temps look good, so I doubt its an overheating problem.

For Prime95 you can test overall memory/cpu stability by going to Options>Torture test>Blend. For it to be any use you really need to run it for a long time though, in other words 8+ hours. When you wish to stop the test you can go to Test>Stop.

I would probably first download and run memtest on a loop for a few hours, it will just loop until you stop it and report errors. This will at least eliminate a ram problem.

This likely leaves you with either a shot gpu or psu. I couldn’t recommend OCCT/Furmark anymore alone for stability testing due to the driver throttles which ati/nvidia have implemented as you will get more power draw from playing a game than using them. Running both furmark and prime95 at the same time however may be enough to stress the PSU to a suitable level. I would only start to get worried if the gpu temp consistently hits 80c, the max specs for the 570 is 97c.
