Tension is not the issue in PvP. It is the words you use during that tension that can result in a 72 suspension. If your suspension was indeed warranted I imagine you can think back over the last few days and recall words you used that violated the language policy.
Also they don’t just suspend people because someone clicked the report button. They do look at chat logs to confirm the violation.

Ok smart guy, except Anet considers anything harassment, I’ve learned not to use profanity even though they have a profanity filter. So if you’re going to be one of those kittens that hasn’t been banned multiple times or have friends who have been permabanned please just don’t respond, I heard the care bears were having try outs next week and you might want to attend.

Do they ask the user who said the “violation” in question why it was said? People can harass others without using verbal abuse, they don’t take that into consideration do they? They just ban whoever says anything to stand up for themselves but they deem that harassment. This community is too soft, rainbows would be ashamed to be associated with it.
You are correct, I’m not one of those people that has banned multiple times or even once for that matter. I don’t plan to either. I understand the line between taunting in a competitive nature that respects the game and simply being vicious. Care bare tryouts? I’m the coach.

LOL.
well said, that made me laugh.
If you feel there was mitigating standards, go ahead and try and appeal via the support site.
But Anet generally goes with “two wrongs don’t make a right” and the TOS quite clearly says not to use foul/abusive language. If someone is doing something objectionable – REPORT IT. If you can’t see the player’s name, I’d just use the in-game report function for something like Verbal Abuse, then file a detailed report via the support website – and mentioned that you filed a report in-game but are posting details in the ticket to explain why.
And I don’t know of any game with a language policy that considers “But you have a profanity filter!” a defense when you are reported.
And if you want, Gaile has at least described the language here on the forums if asked to by the suspended person. I think she was the one who even did the reddit postings shortly after launch where she gave exact quotes even
What others may or may not have said to provoke you is irrelevant. If someone provokes you with foul language, you report them and if warranted they will be suspended. If you respond in kind, you will also be suspended if they report you as well.
The excuse “they started it” does not work, you should have learned that lesson as a child.
This game died over a year ago, the only people still playing are the die hards.
That’s quite an achievement for a game that’s been out 11 months.
If you want to play a pvp game where you can say whatever you want whenever you want without ever getting suspended or banned, GW2 clearly isn’t for you. I suggest doing some google searches to try to find one that is better suited for the play style you’re looking for.
Just fyi, I have heard the second suspension is a week.

So you defend using the “F” word, repeatedly, as A-ok, no worries, perfectly fine in a game that serves players as young as 12, and people from all over the world, many cultures, ages, and genders?
We don’t care what someone else said to you in the context of your appropriate suspension. He or she will be dealt with appropriately. As you were.
You’ve had four blocks on the account. Two for offensive names; two for offensive language. I’d suggest you get on board with the expectations or your account will be terminated.
