GW2 is very CPU demanding ye. The reason is that many low end systems have a decent cpu, but not a decent gpu. So this way they can attrack customers new to the genre without them needing to buy a better computer to play. It is not possible to balance that on your own (and Arenanet isn’t planning on it either, cause it is as designed)
The worrying part is that you are saying that the CPU is over 100 degrees. I hope you are talking bout Fahrenheit. If it is Celsius, there must be something wrong with it. Is it really that hot?? if so the CPU should shut down. It is possible to prevent that by turning the option off (but that should only be done if your CPU has faulty sensors). It can also be that the shut down options isn’t triggering cause it isn’t that hot and you are using a different but faulty meter. Anyways.. that is bout the sensors and triggers, not bout the problem.
Most of the time these issues come from overclocking. Cause it is likely that GW2 is the most CPU-sensitive process you can run it is an excellent way to tell you overclocked too far and should turn it back down a bit.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
great – whole topic was deleted by anet bug – thx a lot – i have to write it again
as i said – this issue is happening since a few days – i cannot figure out whats causing this and no option / adjustment / drivers etc. i tried is fixing it – before it started the exact same system was running fine for 2 years
cpu at 100% usage and 100 degree
gpu at 10% usage and 40 degrees
10 fps in game
i spent hours looking for solutions on google – but nothing helps

FPS issue also.
Running same PC, same spec, same drivers, same OS.
And suddently a huge FPS drop. around -20 fps than usual.
Since 1-2 weeks ago.
Overheating is a hardware issue. Clean the CPU fan and apply new thermal grease. Make sure the case fans are clean too and that the case has good airflow.
i deinstalled and reinstalled drivers and the such – thought that could be the issue (win 10 and all) – but it doesnt seem to be…and cleaned everything…
I think it might be that the cpu AND case fan are not running anymore – but this seems strange because
why did the both stop running at the same time?
why would that cause the gpu to downclock?
are the fans interconnected and the gpu clocks down because the cpu is at its limit and cant power up anymore and the gpu powers according to the usage of the cpu?
im confused

in that case my first thought would be
drivers or updates
or same issue with me that some fan suddenly stopped working and something is overheating

What CPU / MB / RAM Amount / PSU / GPU / OS do you have? Also could you post a screenshot of GPUZ and CPUID with GW2 running in windowed mode and open.
Thank you
