Guild Wars 2

I live out in the country and my internet is limited to 6gb a month. Please don’t tell me to move or get better internet. The cable company will not run service here and if everyone moved out of the country nobody would be growing food. Its never really been a problem because even when I play a ton I usually don’t even hit 5gb in a month.

Suddenly last month I basically hit my cap a couple days early. But there were a bunch of updates so I figured whatever. I dragged my computer an hour away to download hot. I know there are updates nearly every day but I’m nearly at my 6gb cap and its only just barely halfway through my billing cycle. I monitored my daily usage for the day (about 2.5 hours) not even playing the new content basically just a daily pvp match and running all my alts through cursed shore farming nodes. This used to take less than 200mb a day. Now it uses almost 400mb. I checked with my resource manager and it is basically gw2.exe and a couple files that seem to only run while gw is running.

So my question is has anyone else noticed this double use of bandwidth? Is there a better program I can use to monitor this or am I now basically stuck playing only half a month?

Well there’s been a lot of patches, some quite large, on a near daily basis. I haven’t really noticed but do realize if you spend more time with large crowds of players, bandwidth certainly surges.

I thought about that. But cursed shore has been basically empty since hot opened up so I’m not running into many players. My graphics are set to the lowest settings. It just seems that my normal daily routine is using almost twice as much internet and I didn’t know if there was a reason for it or anything I could do about it.
