umm acccout download
Could you give a bit more detail? Is there a specific error message that you are running in to? Is this with the original game download or the patching?
its right after i bought the game online i downloaded the client and then it says i dont have internet connection when the downloader pops up and i got the game online and i ws still loged on to my guildwars account and said i didnt have internet?
any help?
Sounds like a firewall issue potentially. If it blocks the downloader, the downloader would most likely register that as not being able to access the internet because the firewall is preventing it. What kind of security do you run on your computer?
In all seriousness, WHY does this game have so many connectivity issues? I’ve never heard of any other online game having so many client-side connection issues.
This is a PBKAC. Nothing to do with the server itself.
Well…I only ask because I’m in South Korea on a campus network, and I can do literally anything I want except play this game. It’s frustrating to see this same problem pop up so frequently.
Ah. Ya, they have issues with campus servers. It’s odd that you don’t have them with other games though. Lucky.
Technical Support
Hi boster, are you still experiencing this issue? If so, I would like for you to try a command that works for some players who are on campus networks. To do this:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end.
Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
If this doesn’t resolve the issue for you, could you please let me know the full error message that you received along with a Game Advisor report? You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:
