It works with a landline. You get a voice message.

Other than that you can also use a desktop authenticator like WinAuth. Directions here.
If you choose not to use any of those options you will continue to see the message.

I use the SMS option on my landline. Works just peachy! =)
I use WinAut, it’s pretty straight forward.
Just record the secret code somewhere physical (notepad, post-it note) so when you accidentally delete winauth or drive crashes or some other mishap it’s easy to restore.

I would like to ask you to remove the message sms spam and to add – no, thank you, do not ask again, because this will show, that you can respect the players and that you will not go against their will. This issue was problem in all other applications, it wasn’t popular, so you can lose players because of that and players should choose options that are the best for them, esp. those who bought the game. Thank you.
It’s highly suggested as a way to combat account theft. WinAuth is painless if your IP is relatively stable. This is true for a lot of players.
Now if you are willing to opt out and accept a much longer turn around to restore your account if you’re account is compromised, then fine.

Even if your IP regularly changes, using an authenticator is much faster than having to deal with the default email authentication. You can macro an authenticator, making it a 1 button operation. Email authentication is however superior if you have a secured email.
