Guild Wars 2

I’m currently lookin to buy a new MacBook pro. I was wondering which machines available are known to have the best performance with GW 2.
I ask this because I know that the responses for performance have differed widely for different machines since the release of the guild wars mac client. (Example: with the new retina MBPs)

I’m goin mac for career purposes but I also like to have it double as my gaming machine. So don’t just say “build a pc”

Also bootcamping is an option but I’d prefer to run it native.
My goal is to run game with good fps in WvW

Also running on highest graphic settings is not a big deal for me but would be a plus

Your best option for a MBP that also runs games is one of the 15 inch versions with the Core i7 processor and the Geforce GT650M graphics card.
Despite being significantly cheaper, using the non-retina version may even be preferable, since you’ll want to run the game at native resolution for best picture sharpness, and with the lower resolution of the non-retina MBP, you’ll get better performance.
Of course the retina display would be advantageous for other, non-gaming tasks, so you’ll have to make the decision what’s more important to you.

will the 13" mbp non-ret work ok for the game?

It will run the game, but since it only has the integrated Intel graphics, performance will be limited.
