2 Questions about a laptop
if you want to play on the highest settings, you will need a desktop for that. you can play on high-ish settings there but when 30 people gets on the screen, your fps won’t be good.
1. I’m gonna buy a laptop and I wanna know how well it will run gw2, if I’ll be able to run it on high or on the highest graphics, etc. Here are the specs:
- Intel Core i5-3230M
– 2.6GHz-3.2GHz
– 6MB Cache Memory
– 4GB, can be upgraded up to 16GB.
– 750GB
– 7200RPM
– NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M, 2GB DDR3
– 1920×1080
– 15.6’’2. And another questions is, is it necessary for that laptop to also expand the 4GB to 8GB in order to run things better? Or is 4GB enough? Because I won’t be running that many programs at the same time. I’ll probably run GW2, Skype, TS, a browser and iTunes simultaneously and that’s it. So do I need to buy an expansion?
You’ll likely be able to run the game at a very average setting profile and get 60 FPS. Your processor will suck, so don’t expect high FPS in crowded areas like large dynamic events and large WvW battles.
8GB of RAM would help and it is what I recommend the minimum for gaming machines.

[i7 930 @ 4.1Ghz (1.3875V) w/Cooler Master 120M][Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (stock)]
That laptop is, for gaming, low end.
GPU wise u need a 660m at the lowest, but that still wont allow max settings if u want to keep high fps.
CPU wise a 3630QM is minimum, even then WvW will be sub 20 fps.
RAM wise, 4gb is kinda getting phassed out atm, i would recommened 8gb.
