and a 7850graphics card. settings on max what kind of frames would i get?also and/or what graphics card do i need for upgrade
This is really outdated but it can give a basis to base some estimates on:

You can kinda look at the 2560 × 1600 performance and add an fps or 2 for the amount of pixels more they’re rendering. You also have to take into account what processor you’re using though. The more crowded an area, the more your CPU is used and the less data it can feed to the GPU for frames because the CPU just can’t keep up.
CPU bound situations aside, you might want to consider an upgrade to a 7950 or 7970 or something in the Nvidia line greater than or equal to a GTX 760.
I’m not sure of your budget, but you’re looking at cards above 200 dollars likely.

Hi,
I have an i7 2600K and a GTX 770, 2560×1440 everything turned up to max, 60 dead, although in lions arch and in a few zones, with supersampling, the fps can drop to around 50.
@Ilithis – i’d deduct at least 30 fps from that report – beta worked amazingly well on my system back then. this isn’t that guildwars 2 anymore. Would love to see a new updated version of that report actually.

I too have a GTX 770 4GB version running a 1680×1050 resolutions. With most things set to high. I get 60fps in most areas but in LA it drops to 40s and events it drops to 20s. The bottleneck in my case is the CPU, not the video card. Mine is a i5 3550 overclocked to 3.9Ghz. Be sure to upgrade both to get the best fps for this game.
Nvidia side, A 680/770 or higher i would recommend. AMD side, 7970 or 7970ghz.
To be honest i wouldnt go 1440p unless I had a 780, main reason being that in some games even at 1080p a single 780 when using absolute max game settings, can drop below 60 FPS. But for GW2 a 770 or 7970ghz will be fine.
Keep in mind though, if u havnt gone 1440p yet on ur monitor, that in early 2014 Asus will have their 39" 4k monitor coming out and it ‘should’ be relativly cheap for what it is ~$1000 (much cheaper than their 31.5" IGZO 4k one atleast). And tbh if any1 is still on 1080p like myself, it will deffiantly be worth waiting on upgrading ur VDU till 4k is out at more reasonable prices. Then ofc you will need at minimum a GTX 780, recommended 2 in SLI.
Its expensive but 4k is to die for 113PPI at 39" size is just mmmmm.sooo nice.

1440p and 1600p will still be running for a long time, 4k is only right now on its way, and to get playable framerates you need 2 titans atm, even the next gen cards GTX8xx and HD8xxx will struggle with 4k.
My system, right now, with a single GTX 770 is running every game at max settings (no AA, not necessary at this resolution, or at least the visual quality difference is so small it doesn’t really matter) with no problems. I am playing Tomb Raider, Metro Last Light, GW2, AC III, Bioshock Inf, BF3, The Witcher 2… I can see it maybe starting to hiccup with one or two of the games coming out next year, but not before.
Edit: Forgot to mention, this is all playing out at around 60 FPS, I was coming from GTX 660 SLI and I definitely felt a huge gain, also the general temps of my pc has gone down, so im very happy.
