Why is there not a $5 option to buy gems :I Im kinda broke right now it was a hassle to even buy the game but thanks to your recent sale I managed to get the game But I wanted to buy gems cause I had around 5 bucks left and you didnt have an option for that ._.

Actually, that’s only half true…. I’ve run my own business and have looked into this. Each transaction there is a flat fee PLUS interest charged to a merchant for taking a credit card payment. The interest varies but I found 2-4% average.

It’s the flat fee that makes smaller purcahses costly, but the “flat fee” is always below $1 (unless they took an incredibly bad deal). So a $5 purchase ($4 profit) on intellectual items of no manufacturing costs would easily make profit.

Sadly though, this would mean they would have to be less greedy… when have you known shareholders to willingly take less?

Do people actually do that? There’s a few spammers but I don’t think there’s actually a relevant market amongst core players. Sure there’s people who’ll play until they are banned but they aren’t relevant. People who actually care about their character and the progression it makes, don’t buy gold from spammers.

yes theres a market, or the gold sellers wouldnt be around, even in WoW there are gold sellers(infact if you google it, there are thousands of sites that sell gold for every mmo out there that allows such trading)

and i have yet to see somebody get a perm ban in any mmo for buying gold, the main reason for this is that gold sellers will just start sending gold to people at random to cause false bans(seen this many times actually)

what they do is ban accounts for farming and selling gold, but, between stolen accounts and buying accounts/new copies to farm/sell on, gold sellers still make a profit……because they enlarge just run bots to farm for them.

I dont buy gold, BUT i know that its quite common, far more common then you would think……specially in gw2, mostly because the gem to gold exchange rate sucks if your selling gems for gold…..but gold for gems is another story….

google around, there was a good artical about it a while back, showing how much gold was going for and comparing it to gem prices and exchange rate……

again I personally dont buy gold but, I really cant blame people who do, i mean when you look how much it costs to do stuff in this game how your nickle and dimed at ever turn…..and how much top end gear costs, alot of people just say “screw it” and buy the gold…….

oh yeah, and even EvE dosnt ban gold buyers, but they do remove the gold/money and put the person in debt so they cant really play anymore…….lol
