Just got accepted into the beta and the first thing I did, of course, was to run GW2. I’m getting 40+ FPS in LA’s Trader Forum on auto-detect, compared to 15-25 I was getting before. The software didn’t do much for other games, all ran pretty much the same (i.e. good), since only GW2 was giving me problems with FPS, but since I’m just playing GW2 nowadays, it was definitely worth it.
Hope it works for you too.

It just means you had too many junks running in the background eating up cpu and memory resources.

Why does it only affect GW2?

Yet a other “mythbuster, magic” 160% performance increase yay! When will people at least setup a valid test, before opening a thread about it. I understand, that everyone wants to-be a FPS hero, but this does not mean u can skip the verification and validation of a result.

“Traders Forum” u know what i get 10-90 FPS in this area, depending where i stand/view. This zone is possible the worst FPS test setup u can possible come up, same with random WvW zones.

Those “gaming optimizers” on modern gaming PC, do basically nothing. If they act as a over-clocking tool than thats the best u can hope for. If u don’t render a 3dsMax scene while starting GW2, there is nothing running that can be shut-down for more than 1% more CPU performance.

Claiming a 160% FPS increase by installing a software, is as crazy and misleading as claiming by lowering your CPU temperature from 60 to 30 degree, will make your games run better/smoother.

So plz do a decent test in a controlled environment. The best u can find is a personal story instance or a empty place, that will not change if u log on/off. Than enable/disable your “change” a couple of times and see how it affects the FPS. Than do a reboot and test again, if u still see a 160% FPS increase open a thread with the exact location, system specs and steps u did in your testing. Than we can try to reproduce and review your test method and are able to independently verify it or not.

What u did was claiming a 160% FPS increase by some software, without doing proper testing. Thats like promoting “snake oil” and since this happens all over the place, i simply noted whats wrong with this kind of testing and how u can improve it.

So do proper testing, post the results here and we can get some usefully informations out of it.

BTW here are the things “game booster” does:

1) Close “unneeded” programs! Wow what a feature now i don’t have to close my word or pdf reader anymore, before starting GW2! Wont affect FPS, but at least memory.

2) “optimize your system” Yay all those little registry hacks in yet a other tool, without actually affecting game FPS.

3) “game folder de-fragmentation” Finally a feature that might help users with old HDDs, that don’t run other de-fragment tools. Useless for SSD users.

4) “driver update checker” Again a usefully feature, that might actually increase game FPS if u run a outdated driver.

So no overclocking features for a “game optimizer” the only FPS relevant feature, is the driver updater. So yes if u need yet a extra tool to tell u your driver needs a update, than this is the tool for u, anyone else can just use the default driver update feature from nVidia/Ati.

So did the tool install a new GPU driver? If so what version was installed before and what version now? This might actually be some usefully information.
