Installing the game shouldn’t be an issue at all. If you can’t install GW2, it’s likely due to software reasons (over-zealous anti-virus, etc.)
The PC was just assembled and had a fresh windows install. Antivirus hadn’t been installed yet (priorities right?). Anyway I put my old Radeon 4870 card in and GW is running now. Go figure…
As good as the AMD APU’s are, and they really are in a league of their own, they are not true gaming rig material.
EVGA GTX 780 Classified w/ EK block | XSPC D5 Photon 270 Res/Pump | NexXxos Monsta 240 Rad
CM Storm Stryker case | Seasonic 1000W PSU | Asux Xonar D2X & Logitech Z5500 Sound system |
So you are using onboard video and an AMD cpu?
You are basically asking for low fps.
As for why you can’t install the game, I do not know.

Low… fps…. LOL… i have a a6 5400k… overclocked a bit with 8gd ddr3 mem and i get at 1366×768 54fps.. in most area’s in huge zerg’s around 29-30 witch is not that bad.
you need to relay read up on the APU series they beat most… low to mid range Nvidia / Intel combo’s … and don’t get out powered by amd till the 6670 witch is very.. low improvement
money wise for the price.. it is the best way to build a budget.. pc.. i can play anything even elder scrolls online beta.. just fine.. it will be totally fine in the aspect most game will now be coded for THE apu as the xbox will have one.. and not a very good one at that. nothing like the A-10 is now.
my settings are texture on high check for better texture quality Anti Alias enabled, shadows disabled, water on Terrain reflection’s only, medium environment and low other character. and low post FX witch with them setting it beats. out most game’s in graphic quality

Console games will be coded for x86 architecture not specifically for amd apu, you realize a gtx 670 is a midrange gpu right
I just set up my PC. I have an A10 6800K APU so I know the minimum specs are met. I’m currently not running a discrete graphics card. Could that be what is keeping me from installing the game?
It has happened before, laptops and PC’s that don’t meet the requirements might not even download the game.
So yes, it could be the reason why.
i am running on a a6-3670k @3.3ghz and have no problems running this game. Granted i do not use the gfx side of the apu, it did run the beta ok for the 1 week i used it. as kick kitten as the apu’s are, they gfx side is still low end. Diablo 3 can only be played on medium settings at 720p res, just a example of what kind of power it has.
p.s. these are budget cpu’s. compare it to a newer gen fx chip and it will get crapped on. that loss of l3 cache and HT makes a huge difference.
I wanted to run just the APU for now but for some reason GW2 won’t let me play without a dedicated card. That’s why I have my Radeon 4870 in there just so it will start up.

Do you have graphics drivers installed for the APU?
My laptop has an A10 4600M, and GW2 installs just fine on it and runs. To be fair though, I also have a dGPU (7670M), but GW2 still runs on either the iGPU or dGPU without issue.
That was the problem. I downloaded the beta drivers from AMD’s website. Oddly enough it only seems to be giving me 15 fps. I’ve seen video reviews of over 30 so I have some figuring out to do.
That is good setup for budjet gaming if you add one more GPU to it like Radeon 7750. And if you are not using ddr3 2133 MHz you will be losing a lot fps. Also overclocking gpu/cpu gives you good boost to fps.
