Hi, i have a phenom II 940 Cpu OC’ed to 3.5 ghz. Checked the CPU usage with Hwinfo and it seems game uses %50 %40 of the cpu at most. Since it is a cpu intensive game ( is it ? ) is there a way to increase the cpu usage?
Already tried setting the power profile to high performance and changed the priority of gw2 to high at task manager.

So it sounds like it’s using 2 cores at 100% and not touching the other two? Is that what you mean?

There isn’t really a way to get it to use more, but it’s odd that it doesn’t want to use the other two as it seems to be spreading load over 4 cores of my i7, and others have said that it even uses the virtual cores on i7s as well.

same issue here. On intense action my CPU usage fall down to 50% and the fps to like 10…
My GPU is even worse with only 30% usage.
I have a 3.4ghz phenom II x2 565 and a HD6750

It may be right that both fall;

If you get into an intense area that your GPU can’t handle, then it will become choked (memory bandwidth) and that will mean that your CPU doesn’t have as much to do while the GPU is struggling.

just checked and i can confirm that game uses all cores. all of them at 40-50%. But the problem is at some areas like heart of the mist there is strange mouse lag even if the game runs at30-40 fps. other pve areas feel more smooth with that fps.

same problem here, with a x6 1090t, only one core work at 100% and the other 5 at 10-20%, but my gpu a gtx460 (i have a sli but still low fps) work at 80-100%

I’m using a X6 1090T as well and using a GTX560Ti, all 6 cores are being used.

My rig:
X6 1090T
AMD ati 6870
psu: 700 watt (or higher)
8 gig ram

HORRID FPS, never gets above 40 fps when standing still, u dont want to know what happens when moving… Bottleneck?!?

cpu bound ?, for one core yes.
