Hey guys/gals,
Afterburner Polling & GW2
I was wondering if anyone felt that leaving the “user defined software automatic fan control” on was causing unnecessary frame rate lag because of “polling”. I’m just trying to figure out if I’m better off just setting the fans to a base speed and calling it a day.
It’s unnoticeable, unless you set it to insane values maybe.
PS: grats on your i7-920 and board, wish mine would reach that clock.
Thanks, its cooled on just air too! 212 block with a 35×25×25 fan on it.
i can’t confirm that.
if there is any “lag” caused by polling, it’s not noticeable and even there would be any, it’s better than GW2 constantly crashing my driver or throttling my GPU.
GW2 is the one and only game which needs me to turn on my custom fan speed curve…
maybe it’s, because you’re running your AMD’s in crossfire…GW2 doesn’t like crossfire or SLI, neither does it like MSI Afterburner that much. :/
Strange, I haven’t had a problem using Afterburner with GW2.

The only time I had a problem was trying to use the “Raster 3D” overlay. GW2 wouldn’t start with it enabled, but “Vector 3D/2D” worked fine. Other than that, no problems here either.
I use Afterburner and have never had an issue with it in GW2. I use vector 3d though so maybe that might be the problem.
