Anyone know about this Hardware ?
Overclock to at least 4ghz or more & report back.
GTX 6GB Titan@1160Mhz

I really don’t want to damage my cpu tho I just got it…:/
You need a good cpu cooler to overclock. very slight change to damage cpu, if you know what you are doing.
Have you tried 306.63 drivers for Win 7 64bit

It’s pretty much impossible to damage a processor through overclocking. Time to put on your big boy pants & overclock like a real man.

Yes I do have that driver. So you guys are saying it’s my cpu huh ?
the thing is, a friend of mine has almost the same pc, just that he has only 4gb ram and the hd 6950 with 1.2 gb.
The gtx 570 superclocked should be better, but he has never under 40fps on ultra settings no matter what.
I find this odd. Is it on Nvidias side maybe ??
Is your friends cpu same as yours, stock or OC?
Have you checked during game play to see if the GTX 570 is being down clocked. Some cards do that for some unknown reasons at times.
You can use MSI Afterburner while game.

Yes he does have it to stock clocks.
And I also did check that, but it’s not undervolting or anything. I use evga precision x tho
Hey does anyone know how to put a voltage cap or smthg ? I oc’d to 4 ghz but it’s automatically going to almost 1.4 volts which is waaay too high for that. Any way to cap it at 1.2 ??
It’s not wise to recommend someone to overclock there system if you don’t know them. Cause you really don’t know how computer savvy the user is overall.
I’m still playing on a system I build my self little over 3 years ago. It handles Guildwars 2 just fine and don’t really see a fps problem.
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz
8GB G.SKILL 1333MHz 240-Pin DDR3
XFX HD5870 ( Two of them in Crossfire mode)

Go into bios & do it. Look for “Vcore”. Try 1.25v to start. If it’s stable you can lower it a bit depending on temps. You don’t want it going over 75c.

kittenally cares? I’m just a random internet bro anyway & OP wan’t more FPS. Overclocking will get him more FPS instantly & for free. He can do his own research on how to do it. Worse than can hapkitten his system wont boot & will need a clr cmos.

Get 3DMark11 and test your system. This way you can be sure if you’re getting similar framerates to other ppl with similar systems than you.
If he overclocks the system too far course it won’t bootup and will need a clear the cmos. He could still overclock the system far enough where it will still bootup and looks to be stable.
I also did not call you any sort of names here on the forum Cbuzz.5083. But I highly doubt GW2 support would recommend overclocking. Just to get few more fps in order to play smooth.
How about try other things first to try to solve the low fps issue. I don’t think the i5 2500k is the reason for the low fps problem. Cause I’m using the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz. I paired it with two HD5870’s in crossfire and play just fine.
I would still recommend try another things to solve the issue first. Let’s try not calling other people names on the forums and act like adult’s.
The i5 2500k was born to overclock. Kinda like obtaining an uber weapon but only using it for cooking. Google an overclock guide for that chip.
I have an 2500k and i do 4.3GHz at 1.284V.
Are you still on stock cooling? I would not just lock it at 1.2V as most need more like 1.25V at 3.3GHz.
There are plenty of cheap coolers that are good, like CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO.
As long as your temps are ok, I wouldn’t worry much, and 2500k can run upto 1.52V according to intel, although I would recommend under 1.4
