I was wondering when the game will run of the GPU instead of the CPU as it is giving many players low FPS which makes the game unplayable in many large scale events and WvWvW. thx

It is GPU bound. It uses far more GPU power (aside from some people having specific driver / game issues) than CPU power.

But it’s also an MMO. They will use CPU more than other games can get away with.

You are not funny OR you don’t know what is the definition of the “CPU/GPU Bound” term.

Any program that relies more heavily on the GPU is GPU bound. This is where GW2 is.

It wasn’t in the first two BWEs and I think that has made some people confused.

From what ive played and seen on the forums this game is deffinetly not GPU bound as my framerates are at the Highest 9 FPS in large WvWvW battles and large PVE events Whereas outside large events it goes from 80 FPS to 20 in a matter of seconds. If it was GPU bound this would not happen.

Err, not really no.

WvWvW applies more stress on the CPU than the rest of the game, this is true – but performance is dictated firstly by GPU and then by CPU. If I look at the games usage (when I can sign in from Switzerland again) my CPU is about 50% on two cores and the GPU up to 75%.

What you’re describing is a bottleneck.

No it isnt with my specs I should be able to run this game fine:
Nvidia GT555m 3GB DDR3 (Dell XPS17)
i5 2430m
4GB Ram
750GB hard drive
