I used to have windows 7, and sometimes when the game crashed when I opened it up again it would ask me to repair my client because it detected an error the last time it ran. Sometimes it would even happen when I closed my game normally, then come back and be asked to repair it.
Now I have Windows 8 and it keeps happening.
I have it installed in a in C:\Games, don’t have it in the Program Files folder like it’s recommended not to.
Anyone know what can be the problem ?
Maybe my hardware, I have 1 SSD with the OS and 1 HDD, I have the game installed on the SSD.

Just bumping this up, and adding something.
Sometimes I notice, that when the game crashes, things start to render as pink, like a table or mountains, they look pink until I repair the client.
Would appreciate a response, thank you

The game should work fine on Windows 8.

Make sure your drivers are all up to date.

However, it might be a .dll issue with Windows 8, which is why the errors aren’t fixing themselves in spite of all your client repairs. Are any .dll errors popping up when you run GameAdvisor? If so, what does the error say?

I’m sure my drivers are all up to date, but is there a good program to check that to be sure ?
I did run Game Advisor, and then read the report, or tried to at least, didn’t see anything related to a .dll error.

Depends on your GPU. If you have Nvidia cards, you can check with Nvidia Geforce Experience. You can also go through windows device manager and do a “check for driver updates” that way.

If you want to post your error log, I wouldn’t mind looking it over and seeing if I can spot anything. Second set of eyes never hurts, although I can’t make promises I’ll be able to fix anything.

I checked everything, only a bluetooth driver needed update.
The only thing I never update was my BIOS, can that be a problem ? Should I update it ?

I’m hesitant to tell you to update your BIOS unless absolutely necessary, since updating the BIOS on some computers can mess with your recovery system. Updating your BIOS from the motherboard’s manufacturer’s website is not recommended (if that was your plan).

Do you have Windows 8 or Windows 8.1? (should have asked that first) If it’s Windows 8.1 you must use approved drivers by 8.1.

I would also like to see your GameAdvisor results. It would really help narrow down what the problem is. I don’t have a lot of info to go on right now. I’m just throwing possible suggestion at you without more info.

P7: c0000374

P8: PCH_71_FROM_ntdll+0x0002DC34

P9:

P10: "

It does like there is a dll error. Something you can try to fix it (note that just deleting and doing a fresh install of the program will not work for this type of dll error).

1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.

2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.

3. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

4. To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

5. Click Start.

Depending upon the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, don’t use your computer for any other tasks while it’s checking for errors.

Once that is complete, Please navigate to your Documents > Guild Wars 2 folder and in there you should see a file called Local.dat. Delete this file.

Next:

1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.

2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”

3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”

4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”

5. Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end.

Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes

Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”

6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.

If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.

7. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Repair” to start the repair process.

Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again and see if this resolves your issue.

Copy the game to your HDD and start it from there for some days simply to test
if its maybe a problem with your SSD

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

0×000cc07b errors can happen for a couple of reasons. When it does happen to an application, it will no longer work until the error is resolved. Few things:

1.) There is a problem with the DLed program itself. It needs to be completely removed from Windows via appwiz.cpl (DO NOT just delete the files from your computer. Uninstall them correctly, or you WILL have errors), your computer rebooted, and then a clean DL can be DLed from either your digital copy of GW2 or reinstalled via your DVD-rom

2.)It might be a Registry error. This can be fixed by running a registry cleaning program. If you have one, run it and see if it fixes the problem.

I would also take Beldin’s advice and maybe do a clean install on your HDD instead of your SSD using method 1 if this doesn’t work on your SSD.

Sorry, I know it’s a lot of suggestions I’m giving you.

How much memory do you have allotted to your SSD? C0000005 errors are usual a windows system related error. In this case, it’s a potential error with your memory? Adjust the memory by taking it down a notch and see if the game will run.

The game is running, for now.
Been working fine for about 30 minutes, but always happens, crashed, then works for a different ammount of time, and then crashes again.

I’d adjust the memory as a last resort. Try the uninstall, reboot, and clean install first. See if that works before messing with the memory.

You have an OS on your SSD, yes? Check and see what’s coming up under Control Panel<System. How many GB of RAM is it reporting the PC has?

I know, I’m sorry, trying to help you figure this out without doing anything major. I really don’t want you to mess with your memory unless as a last resort.

add the following line to the Windows\system 32\drivers….hosts file:

174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

This will only work if the access denied error is in relation to your internet connection, however. Still, it’s quick and worth a short before doing some of the more lengthy suggestions.

I am thinking, however, it still comes back around to a dll error and you need to safely uninstall and then do a fresh installation of the game. I’ll go take another look at your error report and see if there is anything I missed. There is a LOT to read there!

I don’t think upgrading to 8.1 would help, since you said it used to happen with Windows 7 as well, but you may want to see if a new Service Pack for your version of Windows is available. You seem to have a lot of Windows related errors in your log. (mmc.exe and flash player are showing up for some reason as “the signature problem”?) Sometimes windows will update known errors with their dll files and programs. This could help with the crashing.

As I posted in another thread this has been happening with me too (over the last week). Game is installed on two drives. One is windows 7 and the other is windows 8.1. The game started crashing on windows 7 constantly. Now the same problem is happening on windows 8.1.
Prior to the last week crashes were very rare.

Ran the repair function for windows 7 which appeared to fix the problem. Just did the same for windows 8.1 after 5 crashes tonight.

update
Repairing the windows 8.1 game install did not fix the crashing, nor did an update of graphic drivers.

This has been happening to me too for the last week, and today it just got worse.
I close my game normally every time, ESC—> Exit to Desktop.
For the last week or so, every time I start the launcher it says the game didn’t shut down normally and needs to verify the game files. So I let it run, and the game starts up afterwards, great. But this happens every time, and I’ve tried running the -repair function(it repairs, and plays, but when I try to start the game next time, it comes up with the same error.
Today, it didn’t ask me to repair or verify the game data. It started redownliading the whole game. I went to check the .DAT file. Yesterday it was around 14-15gb, today it was at 749MB.
Besides running the -repair function, I’ve also tried to locate the local.dat file. And I did, but it wasn’t in the GW2 folder(I think it should be, or at least it used to be. It was in a hidden Appdata folder for my windows 8.1 account. I found the local.dat folder, and with it, a bunch of corrupted.dat files. I’ve cleared the whole folder, ran a registry and cache repair, and I’m now redownloading GW2 entirely.
This is really annoying

Most people I know in-game, when I talk to them about this, they say they never had a problem with Guild Wars 2, only like 2 people I met yesterday, said their game crashed everytime they closed it, but it never asked for them to repair.
And then there are people likeus, that the game becomes unplayable at some point, with constant crashes and repairs that don’t repair a thing.
I’m updating to windows 8.1, will try out in that version.
