Wasn’t sure where to put this, so I assume Tech Support is the best choice.

I’m working on an autohotkey tool that will create an ‘overlay’ of sorts using the Always On Top property. The tool will simply be for text message macros, such as emotes (though it’s purpose will be much more useful than that, it’s just an example). What I’m wondering is, is this considered a third party program? Will it be detected as such by the game, if there is any kind of detection for third party software? I just want to make sure it’s perfectly fine before I dedicate much time to it.

Basically, its not something you even need to ask. Modifiying the game in any way is illegal as well as using any automation tools. Whether they can detect it or not is another story. I’m not sure they even care. I see bots all over the world all day long. I report them and days later they are still in the same spot doing the same thing.

Considering this is only for sending text, and it’s something I can do even without a GUI overlay, I’d like to wait for an official response. Yes, it automates typing to an extent, but you honestly cannot compare that to modifying the game or bots.

AHK is a third-party program but that isn’t the issue; what is the issue is what you are going to do with it.

If you’re just assigning phrases to F-keys so you can just hit an F-key rather than re-type the whole thing, heck, my keyboard can do that (G-keys). Your action still requires your presence and manually pressing a key.

Note that spamming is spamming regardless if typed or a macro.
