I stopped playing for awhile due to the constant crashes becoming unbearable. The only way to play the game without crashing was to un-overclock my CPU (it’s the only thing that’s overclocked) back down to 2.8GHz. Are there any fixes at all yet for the overclock crash?

It’s not just the game that crashes, by the way. Whenever it “crashes”, it crashes everything that’s running. Firefox, Steam, Xfire, etc. Anything that’s running. After everything that’s running crashes (even if nothing else is running), my screen goes haywire, giving me a ton of different colors, boxes, etc.

Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, AMD 830 Phenom II x4 @ 3.5GHz, 12GB RAM @667MHz (rated 1333)

If the game is crashing because your overclock is unstable, how do you expect ANYONE to fix it?

I don’t crash on any other game. None, at all.

That doesn’t mean anything. If the PC is right on the edge of crashing, it make take certain conditions to make that happen.

The fact that it doesn’t crash when not overclocked means that the overclock is unstable and no code changes are going to fix that.

That doesn’t help at all. I can go OC my computer past the point of unstability, and go run a simplistic 1999 game and not crash. The second I start anything “modern” and graphically intensive however…

I would suggest trying the following:
- Turn off any overclock or unlock you have (if your processor is a triple-core unlocked to quad, even get rid of the unlock)
- Update drivers (do not use beta drivers if possible)
- Test RAM (memtest86, Linux LiveCD, Windows Memory Diagnostics, etc.)
- Stress test entire system (CPU with prime95, GPU with MSI Kombuster, North/Southbridge also with prime95 and proper settings, Power Supply with OCCT, etc.)

The programs I mention aren’t the only ones to do the job though; feel free to use any other recommended program.
