I can log in fine, but when the game starts to load i get a Black screen, and Windows Task Manager says Guild wars 2 is not responding. and i get no where, this is before i can even seclect a character.

It was fine before the update.

Also when the update came into effect, where i often just get booted and need to reload, it crashed GW2.

Guess im the only one. maybe my Client got messed up on the update, can anyone tell me how i can check that all GW2 Client is ok? i saw it once somewhere.

No i got it to! i did a reinstall of gw2 did not help, i did update all my drivers, i put my windows back a few days. nothing works.

1 sec a flash of black then windows is doing nothing on the desktop. and yes also nothing in taskmanager.

Thank you, running a -repair code now, sounds like it wont help but who knows. but gald to see its not just me.

Still nothing. must be a rare problem. maybe its an account problem? I’ll give it a day, then i guess i’ll have to make a ticket.

I just made a shortcut, and made it run as windows xp. And it just started the launcher downloaded something and wend up and running.

I dunno if they just deployed a fix or something but its running for the moment

I too just tried something, totaly turned off my PC and started it up again. I still get the 1 sec flash, but after 2 it loads up as normal.

gald we are both back in game guess this can be closed.

I cant log in either since patch really. Same problem but different error code. I’m getting 42:0:9001:3928.

I get this problem as well. But I am curious if anyone has the same problem as me. #1 I do get the black screen upon loading screen where i cant even select my character or #2 I get a crash that says hardware malfunction. saying a its gonna overheat, memory is messed up etc.
I just installed my New gtx 660ti i got today. So i thought it was me messing up upon installing, but guess not.
I5-2400k default clock
GTX 660 ti gigabyte
Asrock extreme gen 3
cosair 600w
gskill 8 gb ram default clocked @ 1600
3 case fans, and 1 aftermarket nzxt hawk series CPU cooler

Supposely It can’t be that im under powered cause i read some reviews/reports and 600w is more than enough for a 660ti. and ive tested it and i still have watts leftover.
and I changed the “local.dat” to “local-backup.dat” and it worked untill i restarted my comp and what do you know same problem. So i have played gw2 but after restarted its messed up again.

I made my own thread for this, no replies as nobody has a fix for this and Anet has yet to make a response to this problem that’s plaguing many of us after the 25th’s update. This is downright unacceptable.

I’ve been having this issue but to a different extent since the update as well. The black screen is occurring randomly during npc dialogue screens and game play rather than at launch. It’s really frustrating at the moment.

Having the same issue we have all been having since the 25th. They really dropped the ball with this patch, honestly the devs own every bit of it. They patch crap without testing how it will work.

At this point I’m getting the 42:0:9001:3928 error when attempting to log in. Its something THEY did on their side. When I opened a ticket I got a short-bus response (the people they hire to “help” are pitiful) Saying its my router or firewall which it isn’t. I turned my firewall off and everything else including set allowances blah blah blah – nothing they suggested helped. It felt like they googled the problem and just repeated what they found, lol.

I hope they throw us a bone in the next few days or I’ll be moving onto boarderlands, or back to TSW

Yeah, getting some answers would be nice. A “We’re working on it” would be good. A “We’ve discovered the problem and we’ll have it fixed soon” would be even better.
