So I’ve done pretty much everything including deleting the cache, the local.dat, reinstalling, changing my nvidia card’s AA settings to application-specific and changing the reflections from all to terrain & sky. Any ideas are welcome.
The black screen issue is like most others, I’m able to play for 5-30 minutes without getting a black screen(with music playing) flashing back to the game; then randomly get it ever 2-6 minutes, sometimes crashing the gw2 client.

Also I’m running driver 326.19 on my nvidia GTX 550 TI. “Display driver stopped responding and recovered” is what the error prompt says whenever the screen flashes black.
I’ve tried reverting back to previous drivers with a clean install to no avail.

Are you using ANY other program (including the music player) that is using screen overlays or anything that uses graphics?
Try using MSCONFIG to disable ALL unneeded start up programs:

I literally just re-installed windows, running on a 100% fresh copy and I still get the black screen.
I am also running driver 314.22 WHQL (recommended).
Yet to find a fix for my problem.

I went into my msconfig and disabled all the unnecessary services, restarted my computer and tried again, still getting the same problem.

I found my solution! I downloaded MSI Afterburner, ran it, and changed the Core and Memory clock speeds down about 5-10%. After trial and error I could hear my GPU running at a lower speed but the game still running fine, no more black screens!
Essentially I “Under-clocked” my GPU to get the game to run without crashing.

Good to hear.
Would that by any chance be a factory overclocked GPU? I won’t ever buy a factory OC graphics card – because – although it may be ‘stable’ at the time; sometimes components degrade and then the card starts crashing.
