Black screen, don't think it's network.
While I did get a lot of extra play time out of the fix on post two, it still happened mid PVP today.
Load temps on CPU and GPU? Do you get any kind of driver crashed/stopped responding etc msg when the screen freezes of you wait long enough to see if it recovers? It can take 10mins or so sometimes. Do you get BSODs? The fact it did not make it past POST points to a hardware issue.
CPU and GPU temps are good.
Screen doesn’t freeze, monitor loses signal, gets one back, and all I get is a black screen. I can still hear sound (game’s sound effects and anything else my comp was doing (which there usually isn’t anything else when I’m running Gw2).
No BSOD.
The only time it actually RESTARTED was the first time, never did that ever again. Main issue is this black screen with sound going on.
Edit: Should also mention no other game does this but GW2.

Saying good does us trying to help no good, we need info, and sorry to say we can’t just take your word for it. Please DL IBT and coretemp, run it for 10 passes and post max temps, then DL MSI afterburner and kombustor, run it for at least 10-15mins and post max temps. The black screen is a freeze, in the form of a video driver crash or not responding, which is why you still hear things.

But why would it not happen in other games? What is it about this game that makes the driver not respond/crash on my system?

How a game stresses a system or interacts with a driver are all going to be different, just like some games play great on a new driver, but completely breaks another game. You always start with the basics and work your way up.

Could it just be that the game hates 7770’s? On one of the other threads a majority of people with this problem seem to have the same card I do.
The exact same problem started happening to me today with same card, temps are fine and it does not happen with other games. A fix would be nice.
Yeah, seems like this happens to other people. But still, here’s to hoping for a fix.
This thread.
Meet this thread. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/No-video-signal-at-random-intervals/
Please check… Can you guys press F11 or F12 when this happens and have the logout/options windows pop?
This might give us all a little more clarity on what sort of issue this is…
I think its in general between the AMD latest drivers and GW2 Im having trouble with 6850 since i installed latest
Cool. I’m talking about the chance of it being a network issue though.
EDIT: I should explain, this only is a chance if there is no crashing of video drivers, operating system or reboots. You can still press F11 and F12 and get menus….

I would know if it’s a network issue, I was reading about those before I came to the conclusion this is not. This game kills my GPU driver but it is only this game so there is no failing hardware.
