The only exclusive skyhammer stream
A intel i5 3570K + Coolmaster Evo212 (or Noctua NH-D14) cooler.
Asus or gigabyte LGA 1155 motherboard.
OC to around 4.5ghz.
Nvidia 660ti or AMD 7950 Graphics card.
This core setup will allow u play to play GW2 on high setitngs and NEVER drop below 30fps. You should average 45fps in WvW and LA, and 60 in Pve..again though ..you will stil lsee a minimum of 30 fpsin some areas like places in LA and big battles in WvW..this cant be helped.

The above are good calls, however it would be easier for people to help if you stated your needs (overclocking/no overclocking?) and budget.
Personally I would look into a better quality PSU depending on your budget/specs and its almost a must if you are going to be overclocking the cpu/gpu because that supply becomes unstable when reaching over ~75% capacity.
The HAF 912 is a fantastic case, but as it does keep cooled, it also collects dust more
I agree on the PSU, different quality psu degrade differently and they all degrade. Corsair is a safe bet for any psu.
Also, you can get 60 fps in the world besides lions arch and wvwvw with rigs that are much softer and still run ultra settings (ie a Core 2 Quad, 4 ghz, gtx 560 can still do that). I do not overclock myself and get that.
i5 is better than i7.. difference in performance is very small vs the cost
Asus or Gigabyte are good, I prefer Gigabyte now days though.. I have gotten some bad Asus boards lately and short support cycles on them, plus your paying more

Cheaper yes, better no.
Spend as much as you can afford to. It won’t be outdated and leapfrogged in performance by the newer stuff quite as quickly.
Know in advance that whatever you do buy will be outdated in 2-4 years. Many gamers upgrade their CPU/Motherboard one year and GPU’s the next year so they are not replacing everything every year. (Personally I wait for a 50% improvement in performance before biting the bullet)
If your going with a single GPU build often times you can save $$ by getting a pre-built tower on sale from one of the major OEM’s and then add your own video card to it. (as long as the OEM power supply unit has high enough wattage)
I cut my gaming teeth on Adventure&ZorkI,II,III.
