Yep, that is right folks… my gpu usage around 70 per cent when i launch gw2 and dont tell me its about my hardware because it wasnt like that since “head start” but (i didnt use my pc for 10 hours because i was sleeping) then sh.t happened!! so idk what i gonna do, do u have any idea about that?

yep thats what im lookin for, what is that? is there any “repair” button for gw2 (im LoL player) cuz i think its about miss patch? or maybe double patch issue or sth like dat idk "-.-

Sounds like he left his game running overnight and his GPU melt-down.

Sounds like a hardware problem, to me! Even at 100% all night your system should remain functional. That it didn’t means you didn’t have enough airflow, didn’t clean regularly/properly, or had some defective hardware. Fans can fail, though they are engineered not to.

I’ve had a GPU melt-down once. Was amusing. Fan seized from dust/hair, and shortly after got so hot the fan literally melted off and slopped to the bottom of the case. Smelled…. interesting.

i think your having the same problem a bunch of ppl are having, including me.

since beta weekend 3 i played at 70-120 FPS, and 50-90 in wvw. then after a patch this week, im dow to 50-70, 25-45. a bunch of people seem to have the same problem. my gpu usage is around 45-70% most of the time.

And its not my hardware, because every other game runs no different then before

GPU usage is not a “problem.” Your GPU should be able to run 100% full-time, as should your CPU.

If it cannot, then your computer was not built properly and needs proper cooling and/or airflow. The game happens to be exposing a problem with your computer.

I’m not saying the GPU/CPU usage isn’t a bug – only because it’s not intended to do so.

That’s not exactly true, either of them could be bottlenecking the other, say the CPU can’t properly handle the game and will constantly run on 100% while still falling behind, the GPU will not run at max as the CPU is not sending the info it’s needing to process resulting in the GPU not doing what it could as the CPU holds it back.

True enough, but bottlenecking won’t damage the computer. The OP above is complaining because the high utilization all night melted his computer.

We’re talking about things breaking, and not about things being optimal

@Shadeblast You do realize the CPU can (and assuredly does) do a lot more than feed the GPU’s shader engine right? You make it sound like the only thing its doing is send texture and such to the GPU…

I do indeed but I was explaining how that would result in the GPU not running in 100%.

Are you saying that your GPU running at 70% is your problem and that you think it should not go that high ?
