Guild Wars 2

So with Christmas here a friend of mine has a new laptop and of course he’s curious if it can run GW2. The specs are:

Pentium dual core 2.1 ghz
Intel HD graphics
500GB hard drive
4GB DDR3 RAM
128mb dedicated to video

Now I’m thinking the integrated graphics will kill his chances, but on the minimum specs it has Intel HD graphics. I know he meets the dual core 2.0ghz requirement, the hard drive and 2GB of ram requirements also. Comments and pointers are appreciated, thanks.

Intel HD 3000 graphics are the mim specks.

Just use your account to install the client / test it on his computer.

Pentium Dual Core is actually below the minimum requirement as it requires Intel core 2 duo also the game requires a minimum of 256MB Graphics memory and Intel HD3000. Many people are also struggling with this game crashing on systems with 2GB of ram so the gaming experience I cannot see being that good.

Will it ‘run’ the game ..yes.
Will u be able to ‘play’ the game ..probably not.

The performance u get wil be terrible.

Release dates of Core 2 duo are from 2006 – 2009 and Pentium dual core from 2008 – 2012. I have Pentium Dual Core B970 2.3GHz and it is better then an core 2 duo. At least all you can find on list i posted.

I stand corrected. In that case the processor meets the minimum requirements, however with 128MB of video memory the computer is still below the minimum requirements to run the game and we still don’t know what model of graphics the computer has, stating Intel HD could mean the original series, 2000, 3000, or 4000. That could make a big difference but 128MB is still too low but may be able to be adjusted in the computers bios.

I am not arguing with you about rest of his laptop. Just about post that Pentium dual core does not meet minim requirements becouse minimum is Core 2 duo. Model pentium dual core is basically better than core 2 duo.
But i agree his laptop will probably have big problem to run GW 2 playably.
