Guild Wars 2

Hey there,

i’m trying to reinstall the game with DVDs but the client is stubborn and downloads the whole game. Considering the low internet speed i have right now (goes max to 100k/sec) it will take loads of time to download 271965 files or so.

Now I’ve found here and there a trick which consisted of deleting the installer folder and reinstall the game, but doesn’t work for me.

Is there a way to MAKE the client install the game from DVDs? Last time i’ve installed the game (back in spring 2013) was cool and smooth.

Im guessing its downloading because of the gigabytes worth of updates since last year.

Hi, Lovemachine.8023, i also bot the DVD, the thing is u can only get the activation code from the DVD…coz the DVD version has already been fully replaced with new updates as per the Guildwars2 facebook page team, so..ur only option is to download from internet. I did that bytheway

And it worked for me: Downloading 130K files instead of 271K.

Alright the game is patched up and runs like papa in mama.

So if you guys need to install/reinstall, you can use the above posted method in the link: will save you from downloading 60% of the game.

Not true. Installing from the DVD will download instead of 17 GB, roughly 5-6 GB.
