Can't log in - New player, gives error report

Hey there.
I don’t know if this is common. I’m new so…
I just bought the game, finished downloading. Now when I try to log in,
it gives the loading circle following by an error:
The game client is unable to gain acces to the log-in server at this time. This is most
commonly caused by firewall or router settings, security applications, or connecting through a campus network. For additional support, please visit http://support.guildwars.com
Even when I type the wrong password.

I have my firewall disabled. Please help me out.

I deleted game, and reinstalled. Now not using my game discs, but downloading the client from the website. Still can’t log in. I tried hundreds of things, trying to figure out.
I have no virus scanner active, and my windows firewall is shut down.

-Forwarding ports
-Adding -authsrv 206.127.159.107 at target line, at properties of GW 2 Shortcut
-Running as administrator
-Turning off firewall
-Turning on firewall, added/deleted GW 2 on exception list
-Played with cmd
-Changed language at launcher
-Reïnstalling
This isn’t account-linked, as I cannot log into a friends account either.
Please, help me out. This is frustrating.

Still isn’t working. Seems like something is blocking the connection. I really can’t figure out what. Anyone has ideas? I’m VERY open. Bump!
I know you mentioned your firewall, but what about any AV?
Have you tried using the “/clientport 80” option?
Are you on a campus network or some other type of shared internet?
Hi! I get this message usually 2-3 times a week (have for months) The only thing that fixes it for me is to reboot the router. Have you tried that?

I have the same problem it really anoys me that this is happening i already uninstalled my antivirus program for this and it still doesnt work what do i need to do???
Matzuka, did you see my post? Have you tried rebooting your router? I get this error 2-3 times a week an rebooting the router is all it takes to get the game working again for me. Might be as simple as that for you and the OP as well if you haven’t tried it allready

Hi Scrubby Sergeant,
You should try this:
- Using “msconfig” to go into System Configuration
- Click on the “Services” tab and check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box near the bottom, then click the “Disable All” button. (You MUST click “Hide all Microsoft Services”)
Next go to the “Startup” tab and click the “Disable All” button.
Once these items are all disabled, click the “OK” button and you will get a prompt to restart your computer.
