Guild Wars 2

Hello fellow guildwars members.
I’m currently searching for a laptop to play guild wars on, like when i’m on school etc.

I have a friend who has a Asus laptop with a GT630M and he can set almost everything on high.

I’m currently looking at this one: Asus R500 Series R500VD-SX093H
Specs:
CPU-type Intel Core i7 3610QM
Speed 2,3GHz
Maximum frequency 3,1GHz
Motherboard chipset Intel Mobile HM76
Memory size 4GB DDR3
Graphics card Nvidia GT610M

Can this laptop run Guild wars 2 smoothly, like everything on medium and still have a good 25~30 FPS?

Negative, the 610M is slightly better than minimum spec (Intel’s HD 3000).

In a word. ‘no’.

In a laptop u will want to find one with the following specs to play GW2 on a mixture of medium & high settings with 30+fps in all but LA and WvW.

CPU: These or better
3840QM
3820QM
3740QM
3720QM
3630QM

GPU: These or better
Nvidia 560m
Nvidia 470m
AMD 6870m

this usualy means spending between $1000 and $2000. So i hope u have enough.

You only other choice is building a desktop of which u can get the same performance or better for between $600-$1000.

I have CPU: Intel Pentium B970
GPU: Geforce 610m
Ram: 4 GB
I play mostly on low set. Nativ rendring and 1366 × 768 resolutin.
And i have pretty big scale of FPS from 15 to even 70 depends on situation ofcource. It is predictable…In WvW where a lot of people is aroung me i know i will always have
+-15-20 (20 if not fighting)
It is said the game is demanding on CPU and you CPU is better. So maybe you will get similar performance on higher sett. than mine.

I sometimes play on a MSI GT60 with a 680m and 3610, I easily get 60 fps in PvE and about 40 in WvWvW, all max settings

Not even the best commercialy available Desktop PC OC’d can manage 40 fps minimum in WvW battles ..theres no way a laptop with a 3610QM CPU can.

It is always best ..if ur giving an average fps figure ..to also give the minimum ..and maybe in what circomstance said minimum occurs ..to give a better picture of what som1 can expect.

Never said min, just averages about 40, of course there are dips when the Zerg is strong

I’ll check the average after I get back from holiday, however to answer the OP question, no this game requires a pretty hefty GPU and CPU to run smooth, in my experience, the 680m with a ivy bridge quad core CPU will get the job done, even in large scale wvw

I wouldn’t say no, I can run GW2 fine with my MacBook Pro bootcamp mode. That is even slower what he have. You can look up MacBook Pro 2010 15" model CPU and 330M GPU.

I can still play GW2 at low spec. 30FPS PVE world. WvW… well good luck,

Sorry? If your giving your average FPS then you do exactly that. If you give the minimum then you are not giving the average.

Ok ill put it this way. Would u rather have
a) 60 fps average 20fps minimum
or
b) 55 fps average 30fps minimum.

I know most would go for (b) for ‘smoothness’.

Hence the average and minimum ..or just minimum.
i know the average includes the minimum ..but if u just say .. 40 fps average ..u have no idea whether the minimum is 39 or 5 .

Anyway going oftopic here now lol.
