Hi Tech Support,

Recently got the game (digital copy), proceeded to change graphics settings around to my taste, changed Htz setting not realising it would prevent me from playing GW2.

I followed the topic similar to this (delete the local.dat file) but there are no files in my GW2 folder, apart from Program Files (x86) which is the 17GB file.

Please help, I don’t know how else to get around this.

Usually you can find game “config” file from “program data” folder inside “documents and settings” , u must change folder options to see hidden files thougth.

Im not 100% sure IF gw2 store it there, but 99% of games does that.

Do you mean the refresh rate (hertz)?

When you launch the updater, what happens? How far do you get with everything being normal and what are the symptoms after?

you could first try repairing the game. in the extreme case you could reinstall the whole thing and then it should work at least.

local.dat is located here

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 <— Copy/Paste into your Windows Explorer URL Entry section.

then delete the Local.dat, then restart the game.
