Check to see if you have something running that is try to grab the window desktop like some kind of instant messenger or a malware app. I have seen Weather Bug do this to in other games

If you are running windowed mode with a 2nd screen. Clicking on certain items (by accident) on the 2nd screen can also cause this. This is easy to do when you loose your cursor in the heat of a battle (with FX flying about).
Just a possibility that I’m aware of.

It only seems to do it at certain times, though. And it’s only recently started doing it.
It fixes itself once I restart the GW2 Client, so I don’t know if it’s related to background stuff. I will take a closer look at what I’ve got running, though. =)
Have the same problem since last patch. Yesterday I decided to try two things- 1. play “fullscreen in window” and 2. turn off Windows Aero. Seems to work for me, have yet to test it separatly…
