Every time i tried opening the GW2 Launcher it would come up with Connecting Error or Please check your internet… I wanted to ask if there is any way to fix this continuing problem i have been guild wars deprived for 1 day now i need help on how to fix this issue if you can i thank you, if you can’t i thank you for trying I just don’t understand why this is happening.
Edit: I’ve also tried the msconfig procedure

It’s not just you, i’ve gone through all the fixes that are all over the internet and nothing works, its not on our end. I have the same problem and so do many other people. Looks like we just have to wait it out.

i guess i have no choice
FWIW, you’re not alone. Based on the diagnostics I did it appears to be a problem is on ArenaNet end (it looks like maybe with the authentication server(s) if I’m correctly interpreting the data).
Guess we all wait for now.

i have gotten replies on possible ways to fix it but i told support it didn’t work and no response after its about 6 hours now ill give them more time since i understand they are busy
Same problem for me. Has anyone gotten a reply from support?
I have had this problem ever since they started the weekly content crap, when I messaged support they told me it was my ISP… I caled my ISP and they ran tests onm y connection then pinged the Anets server using my connection and claimed it was Anets server and had nothing to do with my connection… and I have not been able to play since last year due to this bullcrap so for everyone saying “Guess we just need to wait for a fix” your going to be disappointed… like I said…. I aint been able to play since last year, thats how long I have had this problem and not been able to play…..

Why can’t they work on helping the people who lost their privilege to play due to this error or another so they can regain a majority of their fan base back because they are already losing me since their support doesn’t respond fast and they don’t seem to be fixing anything related to this

You should start by removing the browser hijacker that’s on your system (Conduit):
- ValueApps
Class Id : {93DBF2BB-A2B3-4683-A92E-57E60751F346}
Install Path : C:\Program Files (x86)\Conduit\ValueApps\IE\ValueAppsLoader.dll
Thread Model : Apartment
These hijackers can affect your entire internet. Here are two (free) utilities that I use to remove such things from client’s PC’s (ADWcleaner and Junkware Removal Tool):
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/
After that, reset your network by doing the following:
Go to the Start Menu, type cmd and right click, and select “Run As Administrator”.
Type the following commands, each followed by pressing enter:
ipconfig /flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int reset all
netsh int ipv4 reset
netsh int ipv6 reset
netsh winsock reset
Now reboot.
[Note] This will reset the Windows firewall also. If you are sharing files over a network you will need to re-enable ‘File and Printer Sharing’ in Windows firewall.

Looks like you’re on wireless, you’ll need to change the DNS server on your wireless adapter:

Just follow the same instructions, this time choose your wireless connection. The IP address there is probably incorrect for your DNS server judging by your Gateway address. Usually it’s the same address as the default Gateway if you are using your ISP’s DNS server.
In your PC (use the previous instructions), change 192.168.2.95 either to ALL zeros which will remove it or use the OpenDNS addresses. Try removing it, which will revert to your default ISP’s DNS server.
That address is wrong (192.168.2.95) unless you happen to be hosting your own DNS server on your local network – which I highly doubt.

Do mark the bubble which says use the following Ip Address ? or do i change the DNS stuff again
Click on “Internet Protocol Version 4” and choose ‘Properties’.
Under the DNS section, click the bubble for the automatic DNS setting, then click OK.

That It?
Yeah, when you click on the properties of your wireless network card, check that setting.
It’s possible that the problem is external and you can’t do anything about it until a server node gets fixed; but I can tell you that I’ve had no issues updating and playing GW2. I left for a bit to finish my daily, needed two events and had no problems – which pretty much means the GW2 servers are fine (A-net would be the first to know).
Good luck to you.

There is definitely a problem here as I have been able to connect to Guild Wars 2 perfectly fine until today. Has ANet said anything about this yet?

I have sent emails but they are very unresponsive they asked for a game adviser text so i provided one and haven’t heard from them since and I also have been able to connect perfectly fine until 2 days ago when this problem arose
(edited by DangerGaming.1692)
If other people on the same network can log in and play; that indicates that it’s not a problem on A-net’s end.
What firewall are you using? Is there an exception in that firewall that allows GW2 through?
You can always (as a test) uninstall any internet security software you have that may be blocking GW2.
There’s also the possibility that some other piece of software is interfering with GW2’s ability to properly access the internet. Please use MSCONFIG to disable everything that’s running in the background then reboot. Here’s how:
would someone lease be able to help me out? I’ve tried every fix there is but no result
would someone lease be able to help me out? I’ve tried every fix there is but no result
It looks like a port used by GW2 (6112) is blocked, which is resulting in those packets being lost.
From your log:

156.154.175.10:6112 – connect failed

156.154.175.10:6112 – connect failed
156.154.176.10:6112 – connect failed
You can try the ‘clientport 80’ switch to see if that resolves the issue:
Hello,
I’m having the same problem. I update patch. Everything played fine. No other changes to my rig or wireless. Attempted to log in next day and now getting this “connection error retrying” hubaloo. Been 3 days and still can’t connect. So far none of the fixes have worked ;( .
Still my problem? Or Anet server/patch bug problem ?

Hey all,
After looking through the Game Advisor reports attached to this thread and looking at support tickets that have been coming into us, a lot of players appear to have port 6112 blocked which you can see under “Checking server connectivity”:

If you are connecting to Guild Wars 2 while on a campus, military, or business network, please check with your network’s administrator to verify that these ports are fully opened and unrestricted. I was connecting like a week ago this problem just started over Easter weekend and i am connected to my house hold wireless internet and how does one fix this problem

My Father fixed my problem i will release the answer as soon as he tells me
Same problem here starting at least by this last weekend, Friday or Saturday (not sure which), 4/18/14 or 4/19/14.
Both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients effectively have no internet connectivity in regard to the server(s) they’re trying to connect to.
Other games and internet connections are working fine. For me this is only an issue with the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients and/or server(s) they’re trying to connect to which started “out of the blue” sometime roughly a few days ago.
At least I now know that I’m not the only one having this problem, therefor it seems more likely that it will get fixed sooner or later…
…
Just wanted to add that 2 other computers on my network are also unable to connect with both GW and GW2 clients. All of these computers were able to connect a few days ago (presumably, as one of them hasn’t been used for several days). Router settings haven’t changed.
My internet connection is fine in all other regards, including the servers I host locally and the crunching I do for BOINC.
(edited by Guardian.2871)
Found this on youtube. It let me patch after using Cyberghost 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AETH12wq5o4
Well this solution helped for connecting and downloading after getting the verification email and accepting the connection. But it did not work if the cyberghost was disconnected… Is it dangerous to play with that on?
Quoting this post for truth:
OK. Evidently some DNS servers seem to be having trouble these days. Let’s try changing your DNS server settings on your PC (scroll down to where the page says “Here’s How” in large green letters):

Edited to add: I use OpenDNS just like in the above article though I have it set in my router instead of my PC.

I took another look at this fix, did it and got everything working again. Opening all my ports as the dev suggested didn’t work for me, though it may work for others.
This fix worked for me.

well wonders never cease… I am able to play again, without changing dns, msconfig or cyberghost up…. Perhaps they fixed it at their end…

That doesn’t make sense – there is no SP3 for Windows 7
