I have the same error, can’t redownload client as well – it says the same thing, and yes, it happened around the same time too, and goes on for 2 days.
nvm, winsock reset helped, guess it had something to do with vpn software i installed recently.

Hi… How do you solve your problem?
1. Run elevated command prompt.
2. Type netsh winsock reset > ENTER:
3. The following message should be seen: “Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog. You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.”
4. Restart computer.
