Connection Errors Detected: retrying...
Update:
Its the mobile connection……when i tried on regular one ,i had no issue @ all…..even when i dced from the regular one(while i was still on usrname/pass started gw2 screen)and i put again the mobile connection ,i was able to login like that also. Then i tried to entirely close gw2 client and open it again…….I had the same connection error after the download 2-3sec logo.
I dont know whats going on cause i didnt have any problems with my mobile internet so far. Seems it has an issue with the pre-login connections, cause if i pass that with my regular connection ,i can put my mobile….fill my user/pass and login smoothly.

Hi Saika – Mobile connections aren’t really recommended for playing Guild Wars 2 as they can be unstable. While there’s nothing wrong with using them, you may encounter issues such as this.

Thanks for your reply.
I didnt have any issue before yesterday,so that’s why i am wonder. Thing is, that still , if i pass the download logo(you know…. that checks if is an update available),iam able to put my username/pass login, then authenticate and play. So since yesterday my mobile connection has issue only with the update(downloading check @ the begin). If i put my regular connection and i get pass the updater, then i can change it to my mobile one(without ofc to close the gw2 user/pass screen)and play without any issue.
Is there a way to bypass the updater when iam using my mobile connection and to get directly @ login screen(ofc that will work only during the days with no update),because i use a lot my laptop when i travel and i would like to be able to play.
Thank you.

Hi Saika,
To my knowledge there is no way to bypass the updater when using your mobile connection in order to go directly to the login screen.
I’m not sure if this helps, but you can create a shortcut with your login information that completly bypasses the patcher~
You right click on your Gw2.exe, Create Short Cut.
Then on your new shortcut, you right click, select properties, and edit the Target to read as follows:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -email youremailhere -password yourpasswordhere -nopatchui
IT might read differently if you have a different operating system or version of windows^^ This bypasses the patcher and login, and goes straight to character selection, it will not work if the game updates tho. In which case you’d have to go back to normal startup to let it patch~
hmmm nice input Laii……….we haven’t try that yet , but i also found an other solution for ppl that use mobile connections from time to time and have similar issues.
You can download a “Tunneling” program like pingzapper or battleping @their trial forms(30m – 1hour without dc) bypass the patcher and then connect normaly with your mobile connection.
Hope it helps:)
Sorry to revive this thread after so long, but this problem is bothering me again. And neither of the two solutions (the one above and the one about port 80 in another thread) work for me. So most of the time, GW2 is simply inaccessible for me. Only on rare occasions wil it allow me to play for a bit.
