Hello.
I’ve got an issue with my game client.
Sometimes, I’ve got a problem when I’m playing. When I am on my ranger – I get a “connection lost” info, but after clicking “ok” I can still play – my status is changing from online to offline and again and again, I’m still getting connection lost infos, I can still play, but only on ranger – I get a crash during a map loading when I’m trying to change a character. I can’t see or write on any chats, cant see my party or friends on list. Client restart doesn’t help, pc restart neither. Internet connection is ok.
I need some help here!

Quit, only advice I can give you. I have the same problem only worse. I’m migrating to WoW and getting ready for the next path. GW2 what a massive let down, only bought it 5days ago.
Maybe this will help:
Hi there Palm Tiger (and anyone else experiencing this issue):
The instructions below will change the way Guild Wars 2 connects on your network. In short, this will force all inbound and outbound data to use port 80. Since port 80 is a very common port, it usually has the least amount of issues with transmission of data. To do this:
1. Locate the file “GW2.exe” and right-click it, selecting “Create Shortcut.”
2. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Port Test.”
3. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”4. Edit the “Target” line to include /clientport 80 at the end. Note: Please make sure /clientport 80 is outside of the quotes.
• Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
• Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe /clientport 80”5. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 4 again.
6. Double click “Guild Wars 2 Port Test” and try connecting again.
Hope this helps!

Even with the Performance issues that GW2 has, its leaps and bounds better then WoW is currently. After BC, WoW joined the ‘give it to them for free’ Crowd. And has been Junk ever since.
So enjoy playing WoW, as it slowly dies off into nothing.

Where are you located in the world. What Server did you choose?
On your Character Select Screen are you seeing the same ‘Online Status’ issue if you open your friends list? (Top Left of screen).
What Router do you use at home, do you use a wired connection or wireless connection between your PC that runs GW2 and the Router? What is your Internet Connection (DSL, Cable, FiOS, Dial-up).

Server Blacktide. Location doesn’t matter, it happens everywhere in the world for last three days. Whole thing started when I was switching characters and game crashed during map loading, I was trying to load it again but I received message about connection lost. I tried several times and I thought my character is somehow bugged, so I decided to try another character, which didn’t work either, only my ranger was able to log in. But then I received another “connection lost” message when playing but still been able to play without disconnect.
Friend list issue is the same, I can see their account name online, but no character names and I can’t invite, join party or enter dungeon opened by other person.
My internet connection is DSL, i don’t use wireless connection, my pc is connected directly to modem via Ethernet Cable.

I mean, where at in the REAL WORLD. Europe, US(West, Central, East) Australia..ect.?
DSL is one of the most annoying connections to work with :-) There is a ‘keep alive’ on your PPPoE authentication, and if its set to low it can cause Real time streams to drop (TCP-Reset).
In your Modem (Configuration web page) there should be a Authentication status link, then a summary of the last time authentication happened and what happened to your WAN during that (Flagged Down, DHCP Renew, Unchanged). If your modem authenticates to the PPPoE Servers to often, I’d call your ISP and see if they can change that for you. Ideally you shouldnt have to auth but once every 3-4 days, or when grabbing a new IP address.
Then theres the Tech that goes into DSL (aDSL+). Are you running Dual ‘Phone’ Lines into the Modem? Are they bonded (12Mb down, 2.5Mb up). Can you verify signal to noise ratio in the modem? Are the 2 Lines running in Sync (look for Errors, Loss of Signal…ect).
If you cannot answer any of these questions, make a call to your ISP and ask them these very questions and have them verify the data and give you the numbers from their read outs.
Also, If you can figure out BlackTides IP and run a ping and trace route to it and respond with its response time that may help to ID some of the issues as well.

I’m from Poland and I’m sure that everything is fine with my internet conenction. A problem appeared 3 days ago, before that everything was ok.
It’s not a DSL through phone line, My ISP is also my Cable TV provider – 6Mbps download and 1 Mbps Upload. I think that if my Internet connection would be a reason of an issue, i’d get DC to character select screen, but game crashes only on 2 characters and my “offline” ranger is playable solo – I made full exploration of two maps being “offline”.

its either DSL or Cable. its not Both. And its possible your ISP is at fault, esp since this started about 3 days ago.
There is no offline mode for the game. So if you dropped from the server and are making progress still you are not offline.
I still HIGHLY recommend calling your ISP and have them verify that everything is good on their end and up to your Modem. Then go from there.
