Hey guys, I play on a laptop (Macbook Pro Early 2011 via bootcamp), and when I am playing gw2, I constantly have a battery drain. It does the same when I am also playing via the Mac Client. The drain seems to be a lot slower when I put the batter into power saver mode but it still drains but at a slower rate. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

such a behavior sounds completely normal for a laptop, unless it uses some high-end super-economic battery pack.

isn’t it self explanatory, that “power saving mode” saves more power?

GW2 demands alot from your hardware, especially your CPU, and therefore, your hardware drains more power when duty calls.

i admit, i don’t know about a macbook’s specs and cannot surely say anything about it’s power consumption, but i don’t think you can fix a non-existent problem.

useless fun fact: you have to work out about 5 hours on a bicycle-hometrainer, to generate enough power for one single google search.

Your question is very confusing. Are you talking about the fact that your battery drains (assuming you don’t have the laptop plugged into a wall socket) when playing the game? If so, that’s kinda normal to the operation of any electronic device. It has to draw power from somewhere.

As to the amount it’s pulling – yeah, GW2 is very intense on the hardware of any system so it’s going to draw power more rapidly then, say, typing a document in a word processor.
