Because it’s really discouraging crashing in the middle of WvWvW and loggin in the middle of the woods with one piece of armor damaged meaning some friggin scrubs got a free kill on you cuz you crashed.

@OP do you have any sort of on screen display running while playing? Some of these can make gw2 crash when loading if you have them running at the same time. They would be the same programs that display fps of the game you are playing.

Alot of Windows XP’s problem comes from newer games and drivers utilising the system pools to a degree that XP was not coded to cater for.

Windows XP attempts to detect pool sizes at startup, but often doesn’t set the max possible for the users hardware capabilities

If your system runs out of Non pageable pool, you will experience complete system crashes, where as running out of paged pool will see the game crash or randomly stop displaying textures or playing back sounds.

Another aspect is the Virtual Memory limit, which on both XP and Vista 32bit is 2GB (or 3gb with relative to the operating system changes to boot.ini or bcedit). GW2 can quite easily run up an allocation of 3GB during normal play, unless you drop all graphics settings to the minimum.

Upgrading to windows 7 did not solve the problem and I i’m getting some graphical bugs on occasion. I don’t run anything else when playing GW2. Is it my graphics card?

have the same problem, it started 4 days ago when i couldn’t log in for an hour saying that there was a problem with my router communicating whatever… i cant got to wvw anymore as it always get stucked at the loading screen. only place i can access is plains of ashford… cant access my main character aswell. help anet. love this game. gave up my ps3 and xbox360 for this..

I literally crashed many times on one occasion when it first started crashing in Coe. Windows was working fine, but the game keeps crashing after that. From trying to get into dungeon, using way point in the dungeon and it just got worse to the point as soon as i entered the dungeon the game freezes.

Theres something wrong with your driver version string.

You are using Windows 7 according to

Processors: 4 [GenuineIntel:6:15:11]
OSVersion: Windows 6.1 (64 bit)

Which means the beginning of your driver should be 9.18.001 with the 5 numbers after this indicating your installed driver.

Instead, you appear to be using a Windows XP 64bit driver.

Scratch that, you are using an ancient Asus Enhanced Display driver, which is where the unusual version string comes from.

Uninstall it completely from the control panel and install a newer driver from the nvidia site.

I found a fix thx to support:

1. Right-click on your desktop and select “NVIDIA Control Panel.”

2. Select "Manage 3D Settings.

3. Scroll down until you find “Maximum pre-rendered frames” and change it from “Use the 3D application settings” to “1.”

Once completed, click “Apply” to save your changes and try Guild Wars 2 again.

Thats not a fix, its a workaround for a bug in an inferior driver that you refuse to update from.
