Constant disconnects, game unplayable
This is exactly my issue. I know it is not my end, and I hate to give up completely on Guild Wars 2, but it is fast coming to that. It is a sad fact, that as it stands, It has become so unstable that it is unplayable. I have played without technical issues since April 28th.
I have a similar issue. I waved it off as unimportant because I only get it every hour or so or even longer but if it helps get attention to your problem I’ll post. Playing GW2, internet locks up with no data transfer in either direction, restart net, all good again. The only odd thing about it to me is that it only happens in GW2.
This same problem happened to me starting between 4 and 5pm EST 11/12/12 after many hours of playing up to that point. I’m able to load the client, log in, select my character, and get maybe 10 seconds (if I’m lucky) of actual connection before everything drops. I have to force an exit of GW2 before my internet will come back.

Same here, atm I can log in game but i get kicked in less than 10 minutes, getting repeteadly error 7.. Pity i don’t have any firewall going on and enabled ports for GW2 wahtsoever so…
Never experienced this before, so pretty awkward.
Dont’ really get it :/
Same problem, but it only occurs on tournament games…
Really don’t understand why it only occurs on there…
Interesting! After all the updates and diags I disabled my Windows Firewall (which did have GW2 allowed) and installed Zone Alarm (free) instead. Suddenly I have my connection back.
Mysterious.

Eh… not so mysterious, to be honest. Windows Firewall is one of the most notoriously incompatible programs in existence. Disabling it is pretty much standard troubleshooting nowadays. Kudos to fixing your issue, though.
Mine has been off since I purchased this machine, so I know that isn’t my issue. Which remains still unresolved, and thus the game is still unplayable. As an update, whenever GW2 decides to die on me, and I check my connection status, Windows determines that it needs to reset my NIC Card. To me, this is extremely odd, because were the issue actually a hardware on my end, this would be endemic to my entire system, not just one game.
Maybe my processor is being overloaded? It’s a Core i5, so it really ought to be able to handle low settings, but idk, that could be the case. I have heard of some games being CPU frontloaded on their memory load, which is possible to cause things that look like graphics or network lag. Does anyone know if this might the case?
[Edit: Also, I have the “port forwarding” trick in the shortcut for the game, and it is ran as admin at all times. ]

It’d really be nice to get an official response to any of these varied threads about connection d/c’s that are only linked to / happening with gw2.
Months and months have passed it seems, without official word.
I’m having the issue myself.

This started happening for me yesterday (7-18-13). The longest I have been able to play uninterrupted has been about 10 minutes before I disconnect. I tried turning off my firewall as someone suggested, but the problem remains.
