If I locked some of my CPU cores – say, three of the six – and/or turned off HT, could FPS be increased?

Your FPS would be increased if you could disable crossfire on your Radeon HD 5970.
GW2 hates crossfire.

Late reply, sorry. I’ve tried running in windowed mode (which, I understand, uses only one core) but I notice no difference whatsoever.

Turning off HT could help, I remember seeing somewhere that it’d slightly boost the power of the physical cores. Not sure how accurate that is, though.

Core locking, though, I’m not sure about at all.
