Hello, I recently bought this lovely game and played it for 4 days with no issues. After the 4th day, I’ve been unable to even start the game because of CRC issues. These issues apparently are caused due to (usually..) referencing Props, Textures, or models that do not exist.

Here are the crashes I’ve been experiencing.

Have you run the repair as requested?

A repair does nothing. I’ve reinstalled this game almost 13 times over a period of 3 days.

I BELIEVE that the reason I’m getting “Unused models” is because there are files that hold data for older models that do not exist because they were updated in later builds, therefore causing me to crash.

I’ve recently reinstalled this game at 5:00 pm EST. it’s been 5 hours since then and i’m still getting corrupted file errors.

Setting the compatability to xp service pack 2 fixed the crashes for me, although now it takes awhile to load areas.

Have you ran a disk check on the hard drive that has Guild Wars 2 on it?

To perform a disk check do the following:
Go to ‘My Computer’ and right click on the hard drive that contains Guild Wars 2. Click ‘Properties’ and a new window should pop up. In the new window, go to the ‘Tools’ tab and click ‘Check now…’. From there just follow the screens to complete the disk check.

Okay, now i’m going to make a list of all the things that i have done.

1. Formatting my harddrive.
2. Reinstalling Guild wars 2. (still getting errors as you can tell)
3. Running a Disk Check. (still getting errors)
4. Defragmenting my c: drive. (yay errors)
5. Repairing the game (and yet again, still getting errors)

What i find that does work, whenever i get corrupt files, I:
1. go into my documents folder
2. delete local.dat and anything with corrupt********.dat (which skips the whole verifying process)
3. start guild wars 2.

It re-downloads local.dat and I put in you log information and I’m able to play again.

It constantly crashes tho. so i have to repeat steps 1-3.

What i think is going on here, is that I’ve been given files that are useless to the game now (older files with old prop id’s interfering with new prop id’s, missing textures, and unused models.) making me crash every few minutes or rather every time i run the game. I’d like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

I’d also like to mention this is the only game that does it to me.

The disk check was to verify your hard drive and to see if there was a problem there.

Could you try exporting your crash log or arenanet.log file (usually under my documents/guild wars 2) as a .txt file and post it using more posting & formatting options below. It might help if you run a diagnostic on gw2 by appending the -diag to the end of the shortcut, like doing a repair, then attach the file it gives you also.

Or even a game advisor report would be helpful. Here is the link for that:

Maybe it has to deal with your RAM. Can you run memtest86 on your RAM to see if any errors exist? Memtest can be found here:
