Just looking for anyone to shed any insight on why I have started to crash to the desktop while playing Guild Wars 2. I am attaching the running log because I noticed that both crashes had a few different parts in the —> Error Logs <— section.

I’ve tried repairing the client and even reinstalled the game. Anyone have something I could try? Thanks in advance.

Can close this thread, I see up top how to submit a report correctly and will be doing it that way. Thanks.

You are running out of memory. The process is still 32-bit and will max out around 3.3GB, which you appear to be hitting. I would turn down some of the graphics settings.

Sample rate to “native”, reflections to “terrain/sky”, model limits to medium.

You may be right about that. I wasn’t certain which settings to turn down and notice it doesn’t happen when turned down to “Best Performance” but thanks for pointing me to individual settings to try. I don’t want to run “Best Performance” and I was hoping for a response like this to at least attempt.

Shame, this never happened when I first played this game. Only since I came back 2 months ago….guess my computer of 2 years is getting old(lame lol)

Actually your system is just fine.

Before 2 months ago, they removed “CULLING”. This was limiting the amount of player models and graphics your computer would process at one time. The unfortunate part, during WvW, you could be killed in large zergs by players who would never appears; specifically thieves getting extra “stealth”.

The problem resided on ANET’s side. Their client, while it can run on 64-bit windows(through Windows on Windows[WoW]); it is still a 32-bit piece of code. This limits the process to the 3.3GB of memory, but it hits a hard cap. If they released a 64-bit client, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Don’t take this the wrong way…but you just made my day Thank you for posting such a thorough explanation of what the issue stems from. I’ll make the adjustments based on your suggestion and may follow up in a PM to you after the weekend to just let you know the results.

Even if it doesn’t help the issue I’m having, thank you very much for posting a response to me. I sincerely appreciate your help. Take care!
