Guild Wars 2

The entire game is in a .dat and .tmp file. They’re all located on my desktop and it really bugs me because it has the icon of an unreadable file. Is this normal? I have never played a game that has been installed this way.

Where did your GW2.exe went? You’re not suppose to run .dat file… did you downloaded this from elsewhere like torrent (bad idea).

Edit: I run it from .exe but don’t programs usually install through like x86 program files?

Your desktop has a link, not the exe itself. exe should be in the dir next to the dat file.

The dat and temp file bothers me so I tried moving it to another folder, but the exe starts downloading the entire game again if I try to run it. Is there a way to get around this?

Put the exe together with the dat file and tmp file on a same folder.

Oh ok, and then I’ll just create a shortcut to the exe. Sorry for confusing some people. I’m just trying to make my desktop neater >.<
