So I got this game yesterday the heroic edition so I installed it this morning and started downloading a 226,000 file for the entire day. Suddenly this night my Laptop suddenly restarts and I got a repair notice. I did click repair as usual but the problem is the download restarted back to 226,000 thingy.

I was like 30,000 files left of download and now Im starting to download everything again. Is there something wrong? Can anyone help me with my problem? PLEASE?

Did you get a repair notice to repair Windows or the game if it was Windows it might have did a restore back to a point before you installed the game so most likely the game files may have gotten deleted if it was for the game, the game just check for corrupt files and it doesn’t take as long as a full download. The way you worded you statement “I did the repair as usual” sound like you have to do it on your laptop quite often. Your laptop crashes restarts and some Windows file get corrupted and it needs to repair Windows. If this is the case this is not normal, there is something wrong with your laptop.

Two things to remember about updating the game:
1) Run as administrator. If it cannot write to the GW2.dat file, it will redownload it every time.
2) If your download crashed, it won’t download everything again. It will start at 226,000 file and check to see what files are valid and what needs to be downloaded. Once it finds what files it needs, it starts at 0% to 100% from that point.
In your case, if it had 30k files left, it will check files 226,000 to 30,001 to ensure they are there and not corrupted. Then it will start at 30,000 to download.

If you have to repair windows “normally” something is wrong.

i had the same issue today. i ve played for over a year but never has this happened. i accidently dissconected the portable h disc which the game is installed in, and suddenly i have to dowload more than 220.000 files. iam still dowloading but dont think i am gonna be able to play today since it takes so much time… (by the way i ve accidentally pulled the usb many times before in the past but never had i had to download so many files)
